Preschool through 8th Grade
Hybrid Learning Expectations
1. Parents/guardians are expected to take responsibility for their student's learning when they are away from school. They can check their child's progress through Digital Academy and check-ins with teachers.
2. Students are expected to check-in with their teachers every day, even when learning from home. A schedule for this will be provided by your teacher(s). Students who do not check in daily will be marked absent.
3. Parents and students are responsible for checking Digital Academy weekly to track their child's homework, behavior, and any other important information from the school and teachers.
4. Students are expected to be dressed appropriately for all Zoom, live classes, and other computer based conversations.
5. Students are expected to have their computer camera ON, at all times, during live classes. Students will be marked absent for the day if they do not.
6. Students are expected to be seated at a table or desk for all computer based learning. This is especially important when doing Zoom calls or live classes. Do not lay in bed or on the couch.
7. Students are expected to log-in on time for all classes, and turn in all assigniTIents on-time. If there is a late assignment it will be reprimanded at school.
8. Students are expected to watch, read, listen to live or recorded lessons, complete assessments and assignments, etc. when they are not physically in the building. Valuable information will be given online as well as in the classroom, therefore all school days Monday through Friday will have required work.
9. Students will be required to turn in all assignments via Digital Academy, sometimes email will be used. This applies to all work assigned through Digital Academy. There may be other non digital assignments as well.
10. Students will be required to have all materials with them for distance learning including their Chromebook, and be prepared when they return to the classroom.
11. No student or parent will be permitted to return to school after the end of the day or on distance learning days to retrieve books or materials.
12. Students and Parents will have to communicate frequently with teachers and staff if they have any questions or concerns. Calling school, email, scheduled meetings, Zoom Calls or messaging through Digital Academy are all options. TalkingPoints is an optional program if you prefer to communicate in Spanish or Amharic.This is done through text messaging.
13. Students are expected to write proper, courteous emails or messages when addressing any staff member or student of Holy Spirit School. This will be reviewed early in the school year.
14. Students are expected to act as Christian students when interacting with anyone online. Respect for other classmates, teachers, and staff members is expected at all times.
15. Misuse or abuse of Digital Academy, Google or any school owned property will result in a severe consequence and could include expulsion from Holy Spirit School.
16. Chromebooks are the property of Holy Spirit School. Use of the computers are for school use only. Students and parents are not permitted to add or delete any applications without consent from Miss Chessler or Mrs. Garnica.
17. Parents and students are responsible for reporting any issues/damage with borrowed Chromebooks or equipment.lt is also understood that parents are responsible for the replacement cost due to mis-use or damage to student Chromebooks.
18. Holy Spirit School is not responsible for internet connection outside of the school building.
19. Parents and Students are responsible for attending training and using selected important applications for all school communications and learning.
20. AII parents will have·a Digital Academy account and a Digital Academy email, if needed. Students that do not comply with the rules will have to make up missing work, report to Miss Chesler and/or Ms. Hinton, as well as have additional consequences based on the situation.
